What are custom-fitted clubs?
Custom clubs are made to fit your unique swing characteristics. Your swing characteristics are like a fingerprint They are dependant upon a number of factors including:
- Height
- Handicap
- Sex
- Age
- Athletic Ability
- Strength
- Posture
- Hand Size
- Arm Length
Your clubs are then made exactly to your specifications. To a tee!
Do custom fitted clubs really make a difference?
Absolutely. Custom fitted golf clubs are guaranteed to improve your game. There is no possible way that you can buy golf clubs "off the rack" and expect them to meet the critical variables of your swing. Your height, body type, strength, skill level, length of your arms, the angle that you attack the ball and your stance are just a few of the variables that must be considered in selection of the ideal clubs for you. Doesn't it make sense that your clubs fit you, rather than you having to change your stance and your swing to try to accommodate the clubs?
Is the ideal launch angle 12 degrees with a spin rate of 2000 to 3000 RPM?
These launch characteristics are not ideal for everyone. When launch monitors were initially tested with PGA Tour players this was true. But for slower swing speeds you must launch it higher than 12° to produce optimal distance, and quite likely need more than 3,000 rpms spin rate.
For example, if you’re attempting to water a tree from a long distance with a low pressure water hose. The only way for you to try to reach and water the tree is if you increase the trajectory of the water flow. By increasing this trajectory of the water, you’re now able to reach the tree from a longer distance with a lower water pressure.
Are clubmaker’s brands as good as the major brands?
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) sell the same components to clubmakers as they do to major name brands. The major OEMs are Golfsmith, Dynacraft and GolfWorks. The quality of heads is the same. Clubmakers require tighter tolerances and return heads to the OEM that are not within the needed specification.
Are your Drivers legal?
Yes, all of our drivers are legal, or more appropriately stated they "conform with R&A and USGA Rules". All of us at Pro-Fit Golf believes that any game worth playing has rules ... and we play by the rules. Moreover, Pro-Fit Golf customers are generally touring professionals and avid golfers...golfers who also insist on playing by the rules.
Because our Drivers out perform virtually everything on the market today, KZG Drivers are often challenged at tournaments. Everyone assumes that if the ball goes so far, the club must be illegal. Please call us if there are any questions about our clubs.
What are the benefits of your forged irons?
The primary benefits of forged irons are the "soft" feel and workability. Forged irons are made of carbon steel which is much softer than a cast steel head. When the ball contacts this soft metal, it stays on the face longer allowing the golfer to control or "work" the ball. In contrast, it is much more difficult to control the ball when struck by a club with a hard face.
All of Pro-Fit Golf's forgings are hand crafted and double forged. This process eliminates air pockets in the metal giving a consistent hitting surface and consistent results.
As a woman, will I benefit from custom clubs?
Unfortunately, many women have been mislead to believe that if something is labeled as “ladies” club, it is customized for them. Nothing could be further from the truth.
As a general rule, every golfer can benefit from having their equipment custom fitted. Because Pro-Fit Golf prides itself on custom fitting, we offer a myriad of models designed for different players based on skill, strength, and goals, regardless of your gender or age.
Ladies come in all sizes, shapes, strengths, and skill levels. Some ladies are 5’10”, weigh 150lbs and are very fit; some men are 5’6”, weigh 130 lbs and are not as fit. Some women players are strong, skilled competitive players; some male players are not that strong and are recreational players. Who should get the so-called “ladies” clubs?
Sadly, many women are intimidated by the thought of having their clubs custom built. Hopefully, as the golfing public becomes more aware of the benefits of custom fitting, more women will venture to a custom fitter.

Difference in price:
Clubmakers can pass more value on to their customers. Because we buy in clubs in component form, we are able to reduce the manufacturing fee and pass this onto our customers.
Difference in quality:
Clubmakers pay more attention to precision assembly than assembly line workers. Simply put, all our heads are adjustible for loft and lie settings and we only use the best shafts available. Not only do you get value for money but also the latest technology available.
What is Fitting Technology?
From our wide range, we will select the appropriate flex shaft in either graphite, rifle or stainless steel. You have your choice of cavity-backed iron heads or metal woods, including titanium oversized drivers, and speciality woods, wedges and putters. All clubs are checked for loft and lie, swing weighted, shaft frequency matched, and gripped for YOU.
What is the difference between custom fit and custom built?
Custom fitting by most companies involves fitting you for length of club, lie angle of irons, shaft weight, head design and grip size. Once this is determined, your order is sent to the manufacturer for assembly. Each company like Ping, Titleist, Taylor-made and Callaway have their own standards for assembling the clubs, but none of them will build each club using a frequency metre to your exact specifications. Because each club design has a different head weight, hosel design and centre of gravity, what you get back from the manufacturer may be completely different in terms of feel and performance than what you thought you ordered. By individually building each club to your EXACT specifications as you tested them at our facility, we can ensure that you will get the performance you expect out of your equipment.
